The Thrashing Dust Bunnies
From The Great Outdoor Fight
The Thrashing Dust Bunnies are an all-girl band that played The Great Outdoor Fight in 2005. The band derived was originally called The Bunnies, but found the name "too cutesy." "Thrashing" was added to make the band sound more edgy, and "Dust" was added because, as one critic wrote, "the girls have dirty, neglected, and forgotten souls." The Bunnies, as the band is called by fans, hail from Limerick, Ireland. The band relocated to New York City in 2004. Once known for their habit of getting into the occasional fight, Stateside Bunnies shows are noticably more sedate. The band has stated publicly that they don't want to endanger their chances of becoming legal US citizens.
Lead singer Lis Lupine is well-known by fans as a fan of the GOF. She wrote a song about 1952 GOF Champion Antonia Pery called "Pery, Predator, Prey," recorded originally with her previous band, Sionnach. Bassist Ciara Shaughnessy has claimed that she is distantly related to 1891 Champion Shirley Randolf; however, there is no proof for or against that claim.
