From The Great Outdoor Fight

1945 Fight Champion. Stephan Gottwine (Born 1904, Died 1984) is not one of the most storied of fighters, but he is certainly one of the most dangerous. He was a WWII veteran, having served with distinction during the invasion of Italy. He is especially well remembered in The Great Outdoor Fight for tearing the leg off one of his opponents and dispatching twelve other fighters with it. He is said to have grinned while covered in the blood of his opponents, and licked his lips. This created disconcertation among the other fighters, and the skills he learned in the US army led to him taking the battle fully.

Stephan is best remembered, however, for his writing skills, having published science Fiction classics as "The Call in the Ether" in Weird Tales, Volume 1, 1939, and for his contributions to the sci fi classic film, "Forbidden Planet". He passed away in 1984, after having had a chance to watch Return of the Jedi, and stating, "Damn, that was some fine space Opera."

He is survived by his widow, Clarabelle, and two sons, Jackson and Jasper.
