Hilton Butt
From The Great Outdoor Fight
In World War II, Hilton Butt was one of a group of soldiers under the command of 1950 champion Isaiah Jerrod Hooker. While in the service Butt and Hooker discovered that they'd had similar childhoods, learning to fight because of the teasing they endured due to their last names. Butt qualified for the 1950 fight, but an injury during training kept him out of the competition. Hooker, having inflicted the injury, was permitted to fight in Butt's place and took the championship that year.
