Great Outdoor Fight 1990
From The Great Outdoor Fight
In an incident which revived interest in champion Josef Bryant's 1861 death, the 1990 fight was marred by an outbreak of food poisoning caused by a number of poorly-prepared turkeys served as part of the traditional second-day feast. The contamination affected many men in both armies, and turned The Acres into a truly ugly sight. No fatalities were directly linked to the tainted food. The Fight changed supplier for the next year, and the vendor who had provided the contaminated turkeys soon went out of business due to a sudden outbreak of fire.
