Fauntleroy's Skull Ripper

From The Great Outdoor Fight

Jump to: navigation, search

Fauntleroy Brown's famous final takedown in 1983, where he thrust his fingers into Fancy Joe Comanche's eyes, hooked the sockets, and proceeded to rip out his skull.

While decapitation is not an uncommon occurance in recent fights, the Skull Ripper is unusual in two aspects: Firstly, it was performed in the height of a Dutch fugue, lending it its own kind of credibililty; secondly, Faunleroy's force was such that Fancy Joe Comanche's skull - and a part of his spine - were removed directly through the face. The majority of the skin on Comanche's head remained where it was.

Attempts to duplicate the exact Skull Ripper have met with failure, though successfully plunging one's fingers into another man's eyes always at least takes them out of the Fight.
