Cortez Boyer, man of Mystery.
Cortez Boyer, man of Mystery.

2002 Champion. The Mystery man known only as Cortez Boyer was assumed to be fighting under an assumed name, and claimed frequently to be "Lost". His adorable nature belied the soul of a true champion, and it was claimed that the only reason he entered the fight was to find "His true family".

Boyer's appearance was highly unusual for the Fight. There are some who feel that Boyer was some odd amalgamation of transgendered and transspeciest, which would explain his decidedly non-feline appearance. He managed to stay out of the way of most of the fighting the first day. The second day found him being increasingly picked on, until driven mad with fear he tore out the throat of Cody Stober. This triggered a Dutch fugue with odd side effects. As he tore through the flesh and bones of his enemies, he continued to cry and claim he was lost. Even soaked in blood, Boyer managed to preserve a certain adorable nature.

He emerged from the fugue on Day 3, when he was one of the Last Four Standing. The other three focused on one another, wanting to save the rampaging beast for last. Boyer, lost and confused, barely managed to hold his own in his Last Two Standing battle with G.I. Frakes. Frakes was ready to get the best of him, when a sudden ulcer attack distracted him. Boyer blindly stabbed out with a stick, managing to drive it through Frakes's eye.

Reports dictate that following his victory, Mr. Boyer was reunited with his kin, and got a well deserved refreshing drink of Water. As he apparently fought under a pseudonym, Boyer has proven difficult to find in the years following the Fight.
